Sub-Zero Refrigerator

Sub-Zero 611

Model # 611

Sub-Zero refrigerator repair

The 611 is a built-in over-and-under refrigerator/freezer from the 600 Series with a full-extension freezer drawer and front venting, which lets the whole cabinet sit flush and completely built into surrounding cabinetry. It’s no longer produced and has a lighted electronic control panel.

Fan noise from behind the rear panel that wasn’t there before is a common early sign of trouble on a 611, and frost building up inside the freezer compartment often follows. The full-extension freezer drawer is also a mechanical wear point — after years of use it can come out of square on its slides and stop sealing properly when pushed home.

Key Features

  • Built-in over-and-under refrigerator/freezer with full-extension freezer drawer
  • Front venting allows the unit to be completely built in, lighted electronic control panel
  • 600 Series generation, no longer produced
  • OEM parts generally still available to order, though legacy items take longer to arrive than parts for a current model — a pattern documented for the 611.

FAQ

Sub-Zero 611 FAQ

It’s worth having checked. New fan noise combined with frost buildup in the freezer is a pattern we see fairly often on this model.

Usually, yes. It’s typically the drawer coming out of square on its slides rather than a problem with the sealed refrigeration system.
